Add 1 to 2 tablespoons hot milk or cream and whisk into a smooth paste. Add the reserved pudding and whisk until fully combined. Spoon vanilla and chocolate pudding into serving cups, layering as desired. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent a skin.
