Forgiveness vs reconciliation. If you were taught these are the same thing, you were taught wrong, and it cost you years. Forgiveness is free. Trust is earned. You can release someone completely in your heart, want genuine good for them, hold zero bitterness, and still never hand them the keys to your life again. Those two things live in different rooms.
