As a Certified Master Colourist of 35 years, I definitely recommend washing your hair 24 hours before color, it’s better for the scalp 💜

I am really confused now. I was ALWAYS told not to wash or scratch my hair b4 getting my hair colored. The natural oils protect the scalp.

I have a few clients that i need to come in with Dirty ( unwashed for a couple of days) Hair - because the oils protect Them from allergic reactions..

in the uk its a standard to have the stylist wash your hair first (unless you specifically ask for a dry cut then they ask u to wash) what you said-
