I think these are similar to thermal pads. it cools passively and the ridges on the case help with airflow But the red paste is new to me

except the cooler the ssd is the shorter its life span will be. the memory controller is the important part to cool

Fun fact! SSDs work best when a little warm, thats why minimal cooling like this is best and why water cooling and heat pipes aren't very common

what brand is that? the plastic cases dont have and thermal pads as least the ones ive worked on
