I only adopt adult animals. Mostly bc everyone wants puppies/kittens, but more importantly bc they have established personality& behavior.No surprises

Slow socializing your first dog to your second is key. Blankets with the scent of the new dog, keeping your first dog on a leash while introducing,etc
