It hasn’t been incorporated into your loc yet, which is why your roots may look puffy, frizzy, or less defined between maintenance appointments. This is completely NORMAL and a sign that your hair is growing! 🌱 LOOSE HAIR OUTSIDE YOUR LOCS: These are strands along the length of your locs that are no longer fully incorporated into the loc structure. This can happen due to friction, manipulation, hair texture, incomplete locking, or strands gradually working their way out. NOW HERE’S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING! 👀 New growth is typically addressed during your regular retwist, while loose hair along the body of your locs may require a DIFFERENT maintenance technique, such as carefully crocheting the strands back into the loc when appropriate.
