Bruchladdich is a scotch distiller that then went on to do Botanist gin. Given the differences of industry of those spirits, that's a fairly big jump.

The beer -> seltzer move was/is extremely common in the past 5 years. Also Svedka did the opposite by releasing a seltzer from a legacy vodka brand
