@jeawok_media: Is online discourse going too far?? Maybe people are scrutinizing things too closely these days. Case in point: this caption reading "Gen Z is not okay" on a video of an autistic man talking about his family's fatal car accident but somehow having their laptop survive. And some people seemed to agree with that sentiment -- that Gen Z should not be sharing all their public information out there, and how odd it is that this is just the natural response for people to do now. But the author of the original video responded to this criticism, saying the following: "My mom passed away and now you're implying that I'm a sociopath because I managed not to fall apart in an 18 second TikTok?" And he's right to call out this lack of empathy, because how he processes these terrible events is his own process and thing to work through. And now I'M analyzing both of these people when it's really none of our freaking business to begin with! This whole internet thing has just gone crazy, and maybe this should come as a reminder to take a step back from these ultra-reactionary posts. Or at the very least, to pick and choose your battles, which should of course be #transrights <3. But I DON'T KNOW -- what do you guys think? Are we too reactionary? #debate #reactionary #politics #genz #opinion #controversial #autism #grief #laptop #trauma #rightsideofhistory #roberttolppi #compassion #empathy #sharing #traumadump #generationalgap #jeawokmedia #fyp #foryoupage #explore #explorepage #transrights
