Replying to @☁️N I A M H I’ve been on my period for almost 8 months straight. 🩸 7 months + 4 weeks of constant bleeding, pain, and exhaustion. The other day I spent 15 and a half hours in A&E. I couldn’t stand, I couldn’t walk, I was hunched over two chairs in absolute agony. And yet… I had to beg just for basic pain relief. This isn’t just about me. This is about how women’s health is treated every single day. We are dismissed. We are ignored. We are told to “just get on with it.” But if the roles were reversed, if it was a man experiencing this pain, would the response be the same? Yes, we are lucky to have the NHS and I’m grateful that we don’t have to pay thousands upfront. But free healthcare does not mean we should be treated without dignity. We deserve to be taken seriously. We shouldn’t have to go private just to be heard. I’m having surgery this week (a laparoscopy) just to try and find out what’s going on with my body. But it shouldn’t take years of begging, endless appointments, and hours of suffering in A&E for women to get answers. I’m making this video for awareness, because I know I’m not alone.
