TRAIN LIKE AN ATHLETE Here’s one of my training sessions focusing on strength and power. It’s always important to start off with some mobility and warm up exercises. My personal favourites are the shoulder halo, band pull aparts and some anti-rotational movements. We moved on to some power exercises to help develop explosiveness. Rotational movements are important for most athletes because rotation is involved in most throws, slams, turns etc. Our strength exercises are the meat of the workout and in order to maximise efficiency and minimise fatigue because we want to focus on our sport. We keep it simple with just a Push, Pull and Lower Body exercise, keeping the reps low and rest times high. To ensure I don’t get bored, I like to throw in one accessory/isolation exercise to work on some weaknesses or just for vanity’s sake. Topped it off with some cardio on the bike and it was a great workout! #NDP2023 #healthy #motivation #gym #nutrition #singapore #diet

High Protein Snack Review: Legendary Foods Birthday Cake Flavored Protein Pastry This caught my eyes as it looked like one of the most iconic American snacks - the Poptart. However, it is not by the same company and it’s just a protein based imitation of it. Let’s try it out! Macros: 4 ⭐️ 180 kcal / 20g protein / 44% PW Its calories are pretty low under 200 kcal and has a decent protein weightage. It is definitely competitive with other protein bars and pastries. Taste & Texture: 4 ⭐️ It tastes mostly awesome to be honest! I loved that the filling was hot after microwaving it and it added more depth and flavour to the overall pastry as opposed to just eating a plain protein bar. My only qualm was that the pastry itself was very bready and had a very slight stale taste. In Chinese we call it “lao hong” or “air has entered”. Maybe if it was air fried and the pastry was crispier…🤔 Convenience: 5 🌟 It comes in a single serving package ✅ Price: 3 ⭐️ It costs $5.20 for a single pastry (60g). This is much more expensive than other bars and cookies available on Shopee by ~$1. I would have to check back when it’s on discount to see if it’s more worth it then. Overall: 4 ⭐️ It is definitely a delicious, macro friendly option which is more exciting than the standard protein bar.
