If he is a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist who prescribes medication, should the jury give less weight to opinions involving Lindsay’s medications? Those are legitimate areas for cross-examination. But they do NOT automatically invalidate his testimony. And Zeizel certainly did not appear interested in letting the prosecutor turn those questions into something bigger than they were. That little “I was asked about that…” told me he knew this ground had already been covered. This is where expert testimony gets really interesting. The defense puts forward an expert opinion.
