@filmsandmore3: History: President Richard Nixon gives a speech on 29th March 1973 marking the final withdrawal of US troops from Vietnam, and an end to the 12 years of American military involvement in the nation in the war against the North Vietnamese Communists. The signing of the Paris Peace Accords had brought about the end to US involvement, however shortly after US withdrawal fighting between the opposing Vietnamese forces resumed. Shortly over 2 years later, the Communist forces took Saigon and the war came to a conclusion. The human cost of the conflict can only be estimated, but it is believed it claimed the lives of 1-3 million Vietnamese, 300,000 Cambodians, 62,000 Laotians and 58,220 US service members (M.Lind 1999). #vietnam #History #historytok #war #nixon #peacewithhonor #vietnamwar #fyp #foryou #foryoupage
