imo you can’t just get a dog and when you don’t want it anymore you ”give” it away.. I wouldn’t possibly be able to get rid of a dog I’ve had so long.

I had to rehome my cat due to this same issue. the kids made him anxious and it got so bad. he has flourished in his new home, even with other cats.

My cat had the same problem, and it does become a biohazard. I thankfully got her help and it’s changed a bit, but it’s a process. Sometimes you just have to do the best for both parties
