Unless the manual actually calls for sealant, installing a gasket dry is usually sufficient

Yeah when i had to pull my oil pan i just scraped the old silicone off and put a fitted rubber gasket and its 100% effective

At least they didn’t have a oil leak. Also, I’m surprised the oil filter screen and oil filter didn’t catch it
