Almost got to buy one, then COVID happened, and now I suddenly don’t qualify anymore, even though I did before COVID. I make more money now, my credit is better. 🤷🏻♀️

I sold my house in spring, 2022 and moved in with parents. I stalked houses and rates like it was my life. I bought 8/22 and if I had waited 2 weeks, I would not have been able to afford the rate.

basically.. I've been looking for 3 years. saved up 16k so far. sadly I need 80k down payment with my VA loan just to get a basic house in my area without driving 2 hours 1 way.

In my small town of 5500, a “decent” house is $175,000, still probably needs work. You’re looking at a good home for $250,000.
