My story below ⬇️  2016 wasn’t a good year for me.. I was recovering from an ed, got diagnosed with PCOS & my hair was falling out in clumps 🫠🫠🫠   I washed & curled my hair almost daily.. My hair repayed me by decorting my shower with giant hamster size fur balls & a symphony of crackles & breakage  everyime i went to brush it 💔💔💔      ⭐️ Things I did in 2018 that helped transform my hair ⭐️ 1. SCALP OILING - if there one thing you follow, DO THIS! 🤍 I noticed so much new growth, less breakage & overall more shine after I started oiling my hair religiously! I make my own Rosemary oil at home 🌿 2. Nightly scalp massages -10-15 minutes in the morning or before bed. This has been scientifically proven to increase blood flow & promote hair growth! 💆‍♀️ 3. Quitting bad habits - less heat, finding the right hair products, no more cotton towels & rubber bands ❌ 4. Exercise 💪🏻 -  this was CRUCIAL for balancing my hormones. If you’re experiencing hormonal related hair loss, please see a doctor & get your hormones tested as topical treatments alone won’t fix it. 5. Diet - your hair is made up of 85% protein so it’s no surprise that it’s a key nutrient for healthy hair growth! I started eating more protein & added healthy fats from seeds, salmon & avocados to my diet. 🍳🥑 6. Protective hairstyles - tight hairstyles like tight ponies can lead to traction alopecia. Limit tight hairstyles and swap them out for safe ones like fun braids (I have lots of videos for inspo 💕)  7. Daily hair oiling - different from deep oiling or scalp oiling as you can do this everyday! I use a light weight oil on my mids & ends to keep them shiny & hydrated ✨ 8. Sleep on silk - I recommend investing in a quality silk bonnet or pillow case to prevent breakage 😴 9. Get trims - I recommend cutting your hair every 3-6 months (whenever you start to notice splitting at your ends). Getting regular trims can actually help you grow your hair out & retain length contrary to how it may sound! Split ends will continue splitting unless you cut them. ✂️ 10. Weekly hair washing instead of daily - this might not work for everyone’s scalp but I recommend trying to extend your time between washes as much as possible! Not only can shampoo dry your hair out but your hair is also the most fragile & susceptible to damage in it’s wet state.
