Chengdu is such a fun city! Here are my recommendations on what to do in Chengdu (check out my previous tiktok for what to eat, especially for all of you who can’t take spicy food): 🐼 Explore the Taikoo Li area (Chunxi Road metro station)! This is the most bustling area in Chengdu city and there are 2 popular spots here - 1) 3D naked eye LED display just opposite Taikoo Li shopping complex. Crowds wait there to catch a glimpse of the panda display which is pretty realistic! 2) There is also a cute panda statue hanging off IFS mall in the vicinity (check out my previous tiktok on engaging a photographer to take photos of this iconic spot!). Lastly, the Taikoo Li shopping complex is a tourist attraction itself. It houses many international brands in Sichuan-style traditional architecture. 💧Visit Dujiangyan, a city 1h away from Chengdu city centre. Check out my previous tiktoks on my profile on how to get there, what to do, what to eat, and my recent popular tiktok on the must-see Dujiangyan blue tears! ☕️ Experience local tea culture at Heming Tea House (鹤鸣茶社) located in People’s Park. Teahouses have strong presence in Sichuan and the people here do soend their free time sipping tea over snacks and a game of cards with friends and family. Heming Teahouse is one of the most famous teahouses in China (and crowded too!). People’s Park is also known for its famous matchmaking corner! 🚶‍♀️Located just 10mins by foot away from People’s Park is one of Chengdu’s most famous attractions - Kuanzhai Alley! This place consists of 3 alleys which survived through the chaos of war during the Qing Dynasty. It has now been converted into a commercial street with many stores selling souvenirs and local delicacies. There’s a super cute Popmart store here! 🐼 If you haven’t already noticed Chengdu is the natural habitat to giant pandas. There is a large research base here dedicated to caring and breeding pandas! This is a must-do on any Chengdu itinerary. Check out my next tiktoks on visiting the base and how to buy cheap and good quality panda merch! 🍁 If you love nature you should totally reserve 3-4 days to visit Jiuzhaigou (九寨沟). This place is especially beautiful during fall and is renowned for its colourful lakes, cascading waterfalls and pristine landscapes. Getting here could be a challenge but not to worry I’ll be writing a step by step guide in my next tiktoks! 📸 The Chengdu sign in the first frame is located at Eastern Suburb Memory 东郊记忆. Once an old factory, the land has been converted into a hipster cultural and creative space with cafes, art exhibitions and trendy stores.
