We left that Saturday morning. I had a 5 week old baby and a 3 year old so I was motivated to leave. Went to Houston and never moved back. Still love the City! ❤️It will always be home.

I’m from Lafayette and my mom was driving charter buses to help with evacuations. I remember the stories she’d tell me!

They really should do a thorough documentary for Katrina. There’s so much and so many stories. (Sidebar: As the oldest myself- I’m glad that you made sure your brother stayed with your mom.🤌🙌)

I remember watching cnn at 14. I was in NY and felt so bad. My high school Mother Cabrini had a sister school(Cabrini HS)in NO and we would go on mission trips to help clean the school after Katrina.

I was in high school in San Antonio and I remember the flood of kids we had as new students and the stories they had to tell us. One girl had returned home and taken video of her home and I’ll never..
