Hi everyone 🤍 This is something we’ve kept private for a long time, but it finally feels right to share. Some time ago, we made the incredibly difficult decision to go our separate ways. We fought for our relationship because what we had was real, meaningful, and worth fighting for. Almost 3 years ago, we had actually begun considering separating when Jakob’s brother unexpectedly passed away at only 32, leaving behind 3 beautiful children. We’ve never spoken publicly about his passing because it was incredibly personal and we didn’t feel it was ours to share. At that moment, everything else stopped mattering. Family came first. We stayed by each other’s side, and Christina was there with Jakob and his family to love and help care for the babies who had just lost their dad. As we slowly learned to live with the loss, we also had to face the feelings about our relationship that existed before it. We realized we couldn’t stay together simply because grief had bonded us so tightly. The truth is, we still love each other deeply. We met at 15, grew up together and experienced the best and hardest moments of our lives side by side. We don’t think we’ll ever love anyone in quite the same way we love each other, and we only want the absolute best for one another. For now, this is what feels right. We’ve spent our entire adult lives as “Christina & Jakob,” and we need to learn who we are independently and become better versions of ourselves. Having lives in two different countries made this even harder. We couldn’t simply move a few houses apart and figure things out. Separating meant potentially being an ocean apart and redefining the home and family we built together. But we’re still family. Christina will forever be Auntie to those 3 precious babies, and we’ll always be Mom & Dad to Krølle, our pup who quickly became our little son. 🤍 We’re still best friends, too. We talk, laugh, annoy each other and spend time together whenever we can. Our relationship just looks different now. And yes, we’re grieving our couple TikToks too. 😂 We LOVED making them. They were never just content—they were us laughing together and sharing a part of our relationship we genuinely loved. We don’t look at this as 10 years that ended. They were 10 years that shaped us, gave us a family, countless memories, millions of laughs, a best friend, and a love neither of us will ever experience in quite the same way. We will always love each other and want the best for each other. For now, we’re learning how to grow on our own. 🤍 With love, Christina & Jakob
