#BulanKomunitiMekdi #McDonaldsMalaysia #ProgramKomunitiMcD&RMHC
You think I'm just an ordinary bird? No, I'm the secret agent of the forest. Northern Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) The Northern Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) is a small, charismatic migratory bird known for its striking appearance and long-distance travels. Males feature a distinctive black eye mask, pale grey back, and white underparts, with a rusty-orange tint on the throat and breast. Females are more subdued, with brownish tones. Both sexes have a white rump and tail, which are particularly noticeable in flight. This species breeds in open, rocky habitats across the Arctic and subarctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. Remarkably, Northern Wheatears undertake one of the longest migrations of any small bird, traveling from their breeding grounds to wintering sites in sub-Saharan Africa. They feed primarily on insects and other small invertebrates, often foraging on the ground. Known for their agility and bold behavior, Northern Wheatears are a fascinating example of resilience and adaptability in the avian world. #northernwheatear #DidYouKnow #birds
