@tamerlainesanctuary: Happy Thanksgiving!!! Every year, we present the turkeys with a Thanksgiving feast to celebrate them. Our @leap4animals students helped us set the table and assemble each turkey’s pumpkin this year🙏 Today is bittersweet for those of us who share our lives with these incredible birds. 49 million turkeys are killed every year for Thanksgiving alone, a short meal at the cost of a life. Norman, who is turning 10 years old!!! could have been one of those statistics. Instead, he’s a cherished friend, full of personality and love. Thinking of him makes us reflect on the millions who weren’t rescued, who never got the chance to live out their lives as they deserve. But also we are deeply grateful as we remember all the amazing turkeys we’ve had the privilege of rescuing and sharing our lives with over the years. And most of all, we are thankful for you.. our incredible community and supporters!!! Your compassion and generosity make our work possible.
