Me and a female friend went there a few years ago and felt completely safe!! Got catcalled twice and that kinda sucked but overall even walking at night we never felt in danger or anything

This week, two men whose fathers were famous for their toughness met at the White House. Xi Jinping's father was so tough that his secretary kept track of how much money the kids spent on the movies. Donald Trump's father told his sons to be killers. Neither father was known for generosity, either. But each made an exception for this son. Xi Zhongxun was vice premier until he was purged in 1962. When his son needed clearance to get into Tsinghua, in 1975, the factory where the father was exiled created an ad hoc certificate saying that his political problems would not stand in the way of his children's education. And later, the historian Joseph Torigian writes, the father met Hebei's party chief and told him to take care of his son, who was a premier in the making. Torigian counts this kind of cronyism as one of the few stains on the older Xi's disciplined career. In December 1990, Donald Trump was about $4 billion in the hole to more than 70 banks, and Trump Castle casino was about to pay $18.4 million in interest payments. Fred's lawyer showed up, bought 670 gray $5,000 chips with a $3.35 million check on Fred, put them in a case, and left. No one gambled with them. It was a way of getting Fred's money into the casino, and New Jersey gaming regulators assessed a $30,000 penalty for the loan. But even the father's generosity had its limits. It "doesn't pass the smell test," Fred said. Donald was not the one who broke under Fred's pressure; it was Freddy, the oldest son, who wanted to be an airline pilot. Donald, who has never drunk alcohol, said "I do regret having put pressure on him," and that Freddy "kept me off alcohol." Xi and Trump are certainly not self-made men. But they are not mere privileged heirs, either. They are the sons that demanding fathers decided to invest in. Trump did something that Presidents rarely do, personally walking out to the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews to greet Xi's plane. When Trump landed in Beijing, back in May, Xi sent his vice president, Han Zheng, to greet him. Chinese state television's coverage of the Andrews arrival did not show the two leaders shaking hands at all, instead lingering on the children with bouquets of flowers.
