Its origins lie in the transformation from traditional communities based on agriculture and craftsmanship toward a system centered on factories, machines, private ownership, and the constant expansion of production. The industrial system introduced a new definition of value. Success became measured through profit, efficiency, and economic growth rather than through community, creativity, or harmony with nature. Human labor became increasingly separated from personal meaning. Many people began performing repetitive tasks within large production systems where they had little control over what they created or how their work was organized.
