I think a big part of the no-contact conversation that is missing is the back-and-forth that many adult children have when they decide to go no-contact. I was no-contact from the ages of 19 to 21, decided to forgive and try again, and ended up no-contact again at 26. I wanted to believe that people can change, grow, and that the second time around things would be different. However, I was cautious the second time around and when I came to the realization that nothing had actually changed and nothing was ever going to, I had to make the difficult decision to go no-contact again. When I say a million cuts that bled me dry, it means that I can’t possibly sum up 26 years, the conflicting feelings, and the second chances into a few sentences and I think many other no-contact children probably feel the same as I do. #nocontact #oprah #oprahpodcast
