Cesar was different and a little bizarre in character. The fact that was a primary villain absolutely came through his performance. But, crucially, he never scared me (and I was a skittish child).

Without Cesar’s performance as The Joker, I doubt I would be a fan of Batman. Born in 1978, I was watching Adam West’s Batman franchise by the time I was four years old.
