I'm n HR and I tell ppl this. You're paying yourself back instead of a bank. But it needs to be for a good reason not just to use the money.

Good thing about the 401k loan is you wipe out whatever debt and now it just deducts out of your paycheck

Most people aren’t responsible enough to do a 401k loan, that’s why i never suggest one unless you are about to be on the street. Leave that money alone!
