I let them sleep! I’ll try to wake them up once but, truthfully, a sleeping student is one that I don’t have to worry about being loud or misbehaving etc. I only get concerned if it’s a frequent occurrence!

I had a teacher that let us sleep because he believed that if they’re going to sleep in class, they weren’t going to pay attention if they were awake.

My parents would fight and I was up until 3 AM. I had a teacher to let me sleep change my whole perspective on class.

honestly I think if a student is that tired to fall asleep we should let them sleep since they must be super tired or sick

I wake them up, ask if they're feeling okay or need to go to the nurse, and when they say no, i let them sleep

One day freshman year I didn’t get one minute of sleep cuz of many factors. I would appreciate this. I literally was falling asleep in BAND next to the trumpets and trombones. I usually am super awake

I have SEVERAL students that work overnight at the local factory in our community. It’s part of the abject poverty in this area. So, I let them sleep and keep all my assignments in Google Classroom.

I don’t let them sleep if I’m in the middle of teaching or they’re doing supposed to be working because my admin will not be happy. If a kid is super tired, I send them to the counselor to rest

My attitude towards sleeping is influenced in large part by what we’re doing-normally I do the 1-2 attempts and let it go but I’m more aggressive if it’s a test day or esssy writing time.

love this. as a kid who lived in a very rough house…i didn’t sleep..so i slept in school…i was being touched and beat..so props to you..that’s a good teacher right there

THANK YOU. I have chronic migraines and I’ve missed too many days of school because of it, so I can’t stay home anymore. They keep me up at night sometimes and no matter how hard I try I can’t 1/2

Im tired when I feel overworked.Like I feel tired90%of the time because the amount of time kids spend at school is absolutely ridiculous.Like Im basically living at school &visiting home by this point
