No black (singular) is always the most normal thing u can say. Too many white people call all black people African Americans which is ignorant bc everyone is not, they could be Jamaican, Haitian, Trini, etc

I once referred to someone as “African American” in a conversation and the group, who were all Black laughed and said, “Girl, you can just say Black” and forever felt embarrassed when I think about it
