Why would I be blinded by a smartphone? Infrared is basically heat radiation - as long as temperature of your smartphone is not too high the radiation in this band should not be too great

My question is how can they project anything with micro LED that close to the eye lense - aren’t they out of focus in terms of the image? The pixel per inch resolution in the literal convergence spot of the diameter of the pupil must be enormous.

A solution to the blinding issue might be built in, if those nanoparticles have an output limit; which I presume is the case because of physics. So it would not blind you more than the flashlight because it wouldn't be any brighter🤷♂️

Pirate method! Use them and an eyepatch for one eye, one normal. Not sure if you wiukf be able to see throught he patch tho, considering them mentionjng seeing throgh your eyelid
