United States President Donald Trump announced he was banning major news outlets CNN, Politico and MS NOW from the White House in a move that free speech experts say conflicts with the US Constitution's First Amendment protections for free speech and a free press. Posting to Truth Social earlier today, Trump accused the three outlets of "reporting FAKE NEWS". He added, "Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow." Trump told reporters no specific incident prompted the ban. "It's really just cumulative stories over the past few years." CNN said it stands by its journalists covering the White House. "We have a right under the US Constitution to do that reporting without hindrance or interference from the government," CNN said in a statement.
