Locals here aren't lazy and want everything delivered at their doorsteps. Just look around outside the malls. People walk everywhere.

I went to a mall here in Florida yesterday for the first time in a couple of years. It was soooo dead! Nothing like the mall you showed in Mexico City.

Mall culture? I think when we expect to see or experience the same things we experience when we're back home, we might miss the point of traveling. Having lived in Mexico for 13 years I saw a lot of that from tourists. In Canada, we have malls and people go all the time.
