@aheartunfinished: Hello to all this may reach! I’m new here, so I thought I’d create an account for the book I’ve been writing for over a year :) Currently at 124,000 words and 213 pages! A Heart Unfinished originally started off as a contemporary romance, but I felt it was a shame to waste such charming characters on a linear story. Hence I have dug deeper, into darker, more complex themes, that not only reflect the injustices of history; but have shaped the world as we know it today. And I do not shy away. After centuries of being silenced, treated like animals and property, I want screams to be heard. I want people to know how unfair it truly was for marginalised groups back in the medieval days. A Heart Unfinished is one of three novels I plan on making into a trilogy, and is a dystopian, dark-fantasy, mystery novel imbued with themes of court intrigue, societal violence, and oppressive theocratical systems. It is not only a fight for freedom in a patriarchal world governed by religion where the Mothers’ magic has been locked away; but a coming-of-age story following the morally-grey heroine Antoinette Beaumont—written through a feminist lens. I love her with my entire unfinished heart. (And Theodore). Anyway. Naturally, I have included a subplot of romance.
