FMLA (family medical leave act) kept me employed for 20 years with my company. I was able to call of as needed and not get it count against me.

Thankfully FMLA has helped me not feel as guilty when I’m dealing with a migraine. I always try to work as much as possible before having to miss work but it helps.

At the moment I am struggling with the fact I know I can't currently manage a job because of how my migraines, medications and other health factors are affecting me right now, and it is having major impacts on my sense of self worth and mental health. Through the pain I am trying to hold on to the hope that I will get back to a point where I can manage things well enough that I can function well enough to study and work reliably again.

My manger is so supportive when I have mine, I had one while at work and pushed through it by wearing my sunglasses till I couldn’t do it anymore and went home, I’m in Australia so things are a little different here with sick leave

I have seizures from my complex migraine due to a TBI. Worked for the federal government they used to roll me out in a wheel chair while seizing and tell me to drive home safely. This was in 2011-2012.

Throughout my career I have had three high level female managers who also suffered chronic migraines like me, it was fortunately easy to take time if I needed it but I do wonder about the link between women and high stress jobs.

I’m an early elementary teacher and scared my principal once because my migraine was so bad I had to have my parents come pick me up from work and they wheeled me out in a wheelchair cause I was stumbling around. He had this shocked look on his face as I wheeled past.

I am able to telework when I have a migraine. My supervisor knows if I ask to telework, it’s a really bad one.
