Uninsured people will just die because that’s what it really means. This is a result of not having national healthcare and now not even having medicaid. We live in a third world country.

So in 4-5 years as we all lose our jobs, I’m terrified. I literally got into medicine to expand care and we are seeing it disappear before our eyes.

So many stories of people finding out too late about fatal diseases bc they couldn’t afford to see a dr early at the onset of symptoms. Tragedy bc this govt sends money overseas supporting wars instead of providing basic human needs.

This why universal healthcare would cost less and keep more people healthy

Those without insurance cannot even go to a private clinic because the clinic will want payment up front for someone without insurance. A Federally Qualified Health Center can be a good alternative.

So why do you stop short of advocating for universal coverage? You identified a lot of problems but no solutions and you’ve advocated for political solutions in the past. Why are you hesitant to support a real solution?

Hospitals will spread the cost of unpaid bills to everyone’s private insurance. The alternative is to 1) close their doors, or 2) stop providing services for anyone who Doesn’t have proof of entry at the point of entry. Can you imagine—you show up to the ER with your dad who is having a heart attack and they turn you away because you cannot show your ability to pay? The Republicans have already started undermining MTALA, by not requiring hospitals to save the life of women with problem pregnancies. It won’t stop there. They will axe MTALA entirely.

Unbelievable. In my country 🏴 we have had Universal Single Payer Healthcare since 1948, indeed 1948. No medical debt. No private healthcare insurance company to deny anyone healthcare needs. No denials, whether employed or not, even if one has not contributed to the system. From a broken finger to a heart operation, services are provided free of charge at the point of service. The USA system is an absolute disgrace, shameful, and plain evil. Mankind's inhumanity to mankind. Also, we have free College and University education. No student debt.

I am factor five Leiden and I NEED COUMADIN and INR labs 2 times a month at least. I had 3 dvts 6 PE. I also have Idiopathic intracranial hypertension & CSI with a vp shunt that has had a revision after begging for care for 9 months while the distal tube eroded thru my colon... costing me 13 in of my colon and the distal tube being placed in my pleura under my right lung. I was in NeuroICU in coma 17 days, in Sicu for 24 more days open packed abdominal surgical site with daily lavages for 13 of those days. I have no insurance no follow ups EVER no medication and no medical care AT ALL for the last 13 years. I've just accepted that I'm going to die atp. I give up.

I think we are being driven to place where socialized medicine just makes sense. The consumerism that has taken over healthcare and turned profit over patients has come to its breaking point. American healthcare will not sustain Trump
