Replying to @Corbin Sheol vs Hell: Why the Bible Tells a Different Story Than You Were Taught - If you want to know what the Bible really says about hell, start with Sheol. Sheol is the Hebrew word used around 65 times in the Old Testament and is often mistranslated as hell. But Sheol isn’t a place of fiery torment. In the Bible, Sheol is the grave, the shadowy realm of the dead, where all souls - righteous or unrighteous - go. Translations like the King James blurred the meaning, translating Sheol as hell 31 times, grave 31 times, and pit 3 times. But most modern Bibles do not use hell for Sheol. Over time, Jewish views evolved. Some scriptures describe Sheol as silent, dark, and unconscious. Others show glimpses of God’s presence even there. Later writings like Daniel and Isaiah hint at resurrection and judgment. Still, Sheol in the Bible never meant the flaming torture chamber many imagine. It’s time to stop reading modern assumptions into ancient texts and start learning what the Bible really says about Sheol and hell. #bibleexplained #biblestudytime #hell #sheol #hades #kenarrington #religiousdeconstruction
