I live 2 blocks north of this intersection and drive through it almost every day. To give you a sense of how bad the old traffic pattern was, property values jumped almost as soon as the new traffic pattern replaced it.

People smarter than me could probably see holes in this idea but I have to wonder if we couldnt make insurance companies bear the cost of solving areas where accidents occur most frequently. Bc fixing the mentioned area surely saved insurers decent money simply by removing the potential for claims there

To clarify, the language of the constitution says that DC may not exceed “ten miles square” not ten square miles, meaning a square defined by ten mile sides. The portion of the square provided by Virginia was returned to Virginia in 1847, leaving DC with the strange shape it has now.
