This is your first take that I disagree with. I think the issue is that many black people don’t want to be sold classist exclusion. Martha’s Vineyard is a personification of intra-racial classist exclusion, there’s nothing wrong with not wanting to buy into that.

My black experience is not one of struggle. My parents didn’t do everything right but I never had to want for nothing. We went to Disneyland, Catalina Island & even horse back riding as kids. Not all black people are from the hood or from hard times.

If you came up in poverty we was giving examples like the Cosby show and Fresh Prince to show us Black Excellence exists and we all don't come from poverty. If these people exists where the hell do you think they would vacation. Hell Carlton dressed like this every episode.

Ralph Lauren is literally the quentin tarantino of fashion. He takes heavy influence from smaller curators , designers, and stylists that exhibit different aspects of americana. He’s one of our goats and has shouted out the black legends that influenced him.
