And here’s the mindset shift that helped me: Instead of thinking, “I’m calling a potential client,” think, “I’m reaching out to someone who already expressed interest in something I know how to do. I’m simply seeing if I can help.” Finally, know how you’ll end the conversation before you begin. Having a simple closing in mind makes the whole interaction feel much less intimidating.
