If this were really the site of high tech experiments you wouldn’t be touring it because it would have been destroyed after the US did everything they had to with it. No gov agency is leaving a real high tech facility intact, even if they removed all the obvious tech. It would be stripped to an empty room then demolished. When you tour places like this it is because authorities WANT the public to see it and they don’t want the public to see anything of significance.
