Did he ever really love me? I have been faithful every day of our almost 23 year relationship. He has accused me of horrific things after I have forgiven those exact things he’s done against me. How do I get over him? Can’t even fathom filing for a divorce but I can’t take anymore. But I always feel bad for him. Counseling has not helped! 😭

This is one of the best explanations of how being in a narcissistic relationship is different from other abusive relations, how you get ensnared, and how you can recognize, detach and rebuild. it's difficult but there is no other way if you want to live an authentic tox free life, and I believe most of us, especially empaths, do want to live in truth.

Just ordered this, so glad it’s in the UK! I have definitely let go of that vile cretin but there is lasting damage, the looking glass self video was helpful as I didn’t understand why I can’t tolerate being around other people. I wonder what other ways this abuse damages us even after you leave them.

My mistake is that I've reached a stage of looking beyond the narcissist for the destructive, empty and evil vessel she is and started feeling sorry for her extreme shortcomings as a God created human being.This might set me back,knowing they are irreparable and doomed.

Wow, I love how you explained that they see you as a mirror image of themselves. Now I understand why they care more about the image/narrative of them you present to the public than your personal perception of their image. Ex. They ignore your private tears but respond to your public tears.
