Some of my best recipes are created along the way. Don’t be afraid to experiment in the kitchen. You might stumble upon a favorite. 😊 #EasyRecipe #DinnerIdeas #homecooking #comfortfood Cheesy Hamburger Steak & Potato Bake (recipe) Ingredients: * 4 lean ground beef patties * 1 medium onion, sliced into rings * About 1½ pounds baby red potatoes, sliced * About 1 pound baby carrots * 2 tablespoons butter * 2 tablespoons olive oil * Garlic powder, to taste * Onion powder, to taste * Black pepper, to taste * Salt or your favorite all-purpose seasoning, to taste * ½ cup beef broth * 4 small pats of butter * 4 slices cheddar cheese * Nonstick cooking spray Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish. 2. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook until lightly browned and beginning to soften. Spread the onions across the bottom of the prepared casserole dish. 3. Add the sliced potatoes and carrots to the same skillet. Toss them in the remaining butter and oil, season to taste, and cook for several minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Arrange them over the onions. 4. Season both sides of the hamburger patties with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Brown the patties in the same skillet for a few minutes on each side. They do not need to be completely cooked through. 5. Place the browned hamburger patties over the vegetables. Pour ½ cup beef broth around the patties and over the vegetables. 6. Place a small pat of butter on top of each hamburger patty. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes, or until the potatoes and carrots are tender and the patties are cooked through. 7. Remove the foil and place one slice of cheddar cheese over each patty. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. 8. Let rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Spoon some of those buttery onions and pan juices over each hamburger steak and enjoy!
