also most of the time these people who are destroying Pride flags "in protest" are stealing them from LGBTQ people. either ripping displayed flags off of private property or assaulting someone who has one to take it and destroy it. people burning American flags in protest are usually burning their own flags.

I think the issue is the people who support trump don’t recognise marginalised groups as people and if they do they see “getting the same rights” as “they’re getting more than me” because they don’t recognise their own privilege.

They may be confusing the fact that burning someone else's property I. e. a pride flag is illegal and might be considered a hate crime depending on where the flag is burned. But burning your own pride flag is perfectly legal.

But is the OC lamenting that it's illegal to cut up pride flag because they're cutting up pride flags that belong to other people? Cause that's not a valid form of protest, and definitely illegal (theft/destruction of property)
