I think a lot of people don’t fully understand the point of this episode, it’s not just showing why homelander is the way he is, it’s also very unsublty saying that this is why he cannot be redeemed, from pretty much birth he was abused and hurt and treated with no love, only scientific interest, and as such he is irredeemable, he is irreparably damaged

He’s a product of an evil heartless corporation , this is what happens to young boys when they are neglected of love and only have anger and negativity to depend on when expressing themselves. This is what is happening to our young men now with social media and societal standards. Young men , crying doesn’t make you soft, sadness doesn’t make you soft, women do not make you soft. Anger, hate, selfishness makes you soft. You grow numb and dull from the hate you learn to love, which is what causes you to be soft and easily touched by anger and hate.
