He had some knowledge of forensics, I think he had some type of coverall on him when he committed the crime, he took it off before he got in the car. Possibly he had car seat covers, he disposed of the coveralls and the knife before going home. Showered, then scrubbed the bathroom and got rid of the curtain and his actual clothes. I think he probably scrubbed the whole place from top to bottom multiple times because that would be something he could control about the incident

I think the look of the bathroom is not surprising. He's very much into cleaning, and when he left he took what he had to wash himself and he doesn't have anything else normally in the bathroom so it won't be cluttered
