@okdance2: The Case of George Junius Stinney Jr. Date: March 23, 1944 Location: Alcolu, Clarendon County, South Carolina, USA Suspect: George Junius Stinney Jr., a 14-year-old African American boy. That morning, two young girls rode their bicycles past the Stinney home and asked George and his sister Aime, “Do you know where we can find a flower called maypops?” After that, the girls left but never returned home. Later that evening, police and townspeople organized a search. The next day, the bodies of the two girls were discovered in a ditch near the railroad tracks: Betty June had suffered fatal head injuries from a blunt metal object, possibly an iron rod or a wooden stick. Mary Emma’s skull had also been severely crushed. In 2014, seventy years after the case, a South Carolina judge ruled that the original police interrogation violated due process, and that the trial had been rushed and fundamentally unfair. George Stinney was officially exonerated, and his conviction was vacated. This story is true and he was found innocent after he's dead..They found out who was the real killer..If he had lived he would hv been in his late 80's..And yes they charged him simply because he was BLACK..The killer was WHITE😡😡
