That is not going to clean the drain. It is going to bubble a lot because of a reaction between the baking soda and vinegar. Don't pour boiling water, it could damage the drain.

honestly, at this point, it’s the schools’ problem. It’s clear that schools everywhere have failed if people still don’t understand that damn vinegar and damn baking soda cancel each other. The bubbles you see are simply the result of a chemical reaction.

Just let the baking soda sit in the and absorb the smell. This combo is for like a clogged drain, the reaction will loosen debris. But letting backing soda sit there for a while will help.

We are having the same problem. a TikTok plumber said Pour Pinesol down the drain to dissolve the biofilm in the pipes.. biofilm retains bacteria so I'm hoping this will help. this didn't work for us.
