Sabaidee, Welcome to Laos 🇱🇦 I wish you a wonderful time here in Laos as a local person I am willing to give you some tips regarding anything you wish to know 😊 maybe one thing first grab is not available in Laos but we do have a local taxi service call Loca, try to use Indrive you'll find it very cheap and reasonable price ! noted that in order to use Indrive please download VPN once u turn on the VPN the app can be used perfectly

I arrived yesterday and almost all of this was not true. I paid in Thai Bhat and they gave me Change. I didn't need photos. the airport taxi to the night market is a fair deal but yes use loca. or get a VPN and indrive

You can use the app LOCA for taxis in Laos, it is their version of grab and worked really well for me everywhere!

In Laos, We have no grab, but we have multiples of online transportation, Loca, maxim, kokkok, indrive, etc, for the town

Alternatives to Grab in Laos: Loca and KokKok (KokKok tends to be the cheaper option). Loca app you can use your card on the app, and the app also has Loca Pay which you can use to scan and pay most places in Laos via your card (don’t think it would work for visas at the border though)

40 usd is not for all nationals some more some less and some do not even have to pay anything, hence each one should check according to their nationality and in case of dual passport check which one you wish to use according to the rules.
