@socialcap: If you have $2-3MM in the ol' coffers, just remember it can be equally simple. Everyone and their cousin wants to manage your money and sell you shiny new things. Guess what? You don't need 'em. #tyler #socialcap #investing #yourmoneyguideontheside
Why no bonds? 100% is super risky! If the market declines could take years to recover and if you’re retired you don’t have that kind of time. After spending your 2 years of cash you have to liquidate at a loss

Hi. I’m 5 years from retirement. Should I rebalance my 401K funds to more conservative position now or wait?

What account is best to put paychecks into? I've heard most people do checking but I don't see the difference between that and putting it in savings and then reorganizing?

Thank you for not recommending an annuity. I’ve been in this industry for quite a long time and I come across a number of folks who push annuities on seniors and others fearing market movement, and it just fills me with rage.😁

you would be better off with dividend yielding ETFs. the ones that do covered calls pay weekly and you could earn far more. taking 1 mil and investing in it could earn you roughly 650k in dividends per year.

The only problem with trimming the gains is you have to pay capital gains tax then

I’d take $300,000 out as emergency fund, either having it in checking or HYS so I can easily access them for an market downturn.

Will you do one on $5m at retirement? Sorry, that’s what I’ll have.

It's better to put that in the QQQ and put some cash in case the market crashes. With an annualized return of 19.65%, you will maximize the return without worrying about anything.
