I am extremely woke but also a Christian. I firmly believe it’s both! God created the human who became that surgeon and gave him strength to do the hard work to learn those skills and become the amazing surgeon he is to save that little boy. Is Christianity contributing to the anti science movement? In some ways but there’s also a strong Christian population who are also all about the science too!

It works hand in hand. God instilled the knowledge for such surgery to take place. No matter what happens in life, God is the final deciding factor. “Thank you” should be extended to the surgeon as well as God. The surgery may not have worked for him, but God came into play to make it successful. All knowledge and new medical advances are due to God putting the knowledge in the doctors. I am both a Christian and in the medical field.

I'm a nurse and this is so validating for me. when people praise God for saving someone when it was because of me and the educated people I work with with that saved them. its frustrating. they never blame God when it goes wrong though

I don't think it's too woke. Right now, I truly believe people are in denial. They want a specific answer/outcome & are willing to seek out who ever will give them the answer/outcome they want no matter how unreasonable it may be. It's almost like a toddler. If you don't like the answer you get from mom, you go ask dad no matter how crazy it may be.

My husband trained as a trauma surgeon. Before every single surgery, he prays. Not everything is textbook, esp in trauma. He says his prayers are for the patient and that he can be covered to do what he has learned. I don’t really think the ppl commenting that were discounting the surgeon’s knowledge or skills at all. I don’t have a problem w/ppl saying it or not saying it. I don’t think it’s anything to be triggered by either way.
