I’ve come to realize that his view of helping the household doesn’t seem important to me. I could care less if the lawn is mowed or the flowers are watered, or if we have rain barrels hooked up, etc. I know I’ll care if the gutters are clogged and the grass is too long for the dog to go out in and if the flowers we bought and planted die but in the moment, it’s like I need to wash bottles that we’ll need soon, need to pump to feed your child, need clean clothes to wear or a meal made so we eat. Those all seem more important than yard or outside work to me. Just communicate the time you need or postpone some of it until I can get a few things done too

I’m the default parent but it doesn’t bother me. He’ll never understand nor feel the mental load that carries because he’s the reason I get to be a stay at home mom. He’s carries the financial load and I will forever be grateful.

I feel this - but I also feel guilty my husband works outside 5 days a week. And on the weekend so feel like it’s his time. Even though I’m 24/7 and I still run my own business even though I’m not behind the chair right now. It’s painful
